As an artist I work in a number of areas. I create abstract paintings in acrylics and other supporting mediums. I take my inspiration from words, feelings and emotions. The reaction that the outside stimulus produces creates a reaction in me that is often cross wired. I will feel a colour, taste a shape, see a sound, these reactions represents the concept or idea and can then be drawn and worked on. It takes me a long time to create a painting as the form needs to be worked out then the process of layers starting with texture then shape then layers of colour to attempt to create what already exists in my head.
Themes I have looked at in the past are growth, healing, balance, love, ritual and music. I have also explored some of the concepts within the science world. Through my art, I am seeking to put my interpretation of these concepts out into the world to allow others to explore their reactions to both my interpretations and their own.
